The plan to remodel and refurbish the old house at the rear of the church is soon to get under way.
The generous donation from the Community fund has enabled us to commence renovations and we will be making a start on the 7th December. The plan involves extensive improvements which would not have been possible without the funding being made available to us up front.
We will be completely replacing the bathroom and kitchen areas, adding a new entrance and an out- door area, replacing curtains and blinds, floorcoverings and painting throughout to modernise the home and make it suitable for a family to live in.
The need for emergency accommodation is at crisis point in the Goulburn Valley and this project will be a small step in assisting people in desperate need of shelter and support.
I am pleased to announce that Steve Scutchings has agreed to act as supervisor for the term of the project and he will be working with our volunteers to make it all happen. We are hoping that this house will be available by June next year to start receiving families in need. Watch this space!!
