African Ministry

Shepparton is a major resettlement area for many refugees and welcomes people from many different cultures and backgrounds from all over the world. 10% of the population of the area have come from non- English-speaking nations and bring a rich diversity of culture, arts, food and customs to the Shepparton area. Our vibrant African congregation, led by Ps. Gideon Nyangela and his wife Sophia, bring an atmosphere of passionate worship to Life Church. Gideon and the team specialise in bringing the gospel message and the teachings of God’s word to the local African population in their own languages.

Our regular Sunday 3.00 pm service is an opportunity to experience worship and teaching with a truly African essence.

Revival Choir

Our adult Revival Choir work hard to bring something amazing to our services each week. Their blend of voices and enthusiasm provide an amazing platform for the congregation to participate in worship on a higher level. The choir has performed at many inter church services and conferences, as well as various community events, and they are quickly becoming sought after for their rich harmonies and unique African rhythms. We are so blessed to have them as part of Life Church.

Pastoral Care

There is a real sense of community in our African congregation and any one in need is soon enveloped in a caring, family like atmosphere and assisted by utilising the resources of the community and Life Church. Assistance can be provided for new arrivals by caring, experienced people who can speak their language. Transport to and from our services can be arranged also.

If you are interested in learning more about what our African congregation can offer, or you would like to experience an African church service, please call Ps. Gideon on 0469358416 for more information. We know you will love it!
