Who is Alphacrucis?

Alphacrucis (AC) is the National Training College for the Australian Christian Churches. It is fully accredited and recognized as a training institution by the Australian government and offers a wide range of vocational, graduate and post- graduate awards.

Founded in 1949 AC has played a major role in the academic and spiritual development of thousands of Christian leaders who have shaped – and are shaping – the Church in Australia and throughout the world.

Further information about AC can be found on their website

What is the Local Church College?

AC is partnering with local churches across the nation to deliver their Certificate IV in Ministry where students spend time reflecting and studying in the comfort of their local church.

The LCC program is designed in such a way that you can excel. Based upon AC e- learning units, you spend time reflecting and studying in your own time. You are the learner engaging in the pursuit of excellence and responsible for your own education.

You will join together for a weekly tutorial in Life Church Mooroopna to discuss what has been learnt. Your facilitator will encourage and provide guidance with the course material, also, in this environment each student can share their learning and encourage each other as they learn.

Proverbs 27:17 clearly teaches that ‘iron sharpens iron’. By ‘gathering’ together in the LCC program both the students and facilitators will sharpen each other in their pursuit of their God appointed destiny.
It is anticipated that you need to set aside 4 – 5 hours per week for private study and reflection, this includes the 1.5 hours per week in the tutorial.

Key to the AC Certificate IV in ministry is a fieldwork component, which is outworked through hands-on training in the local church.

How long will it take to complete the course?

The Certificate IV requires the completion of 10 learning modules.
We are delivering this course over 6 semesters (3 Years) to help make this course accessible and effective in a part-time learning environment.

If you are not interested in achieving a Certificate IV in Ministry, you are welcome to consider joining us as an audit student where you can enjoy and participate in the teaching and group discussions, but no assessments are required to be submitted.

Course Delivery

Each academic semester is 18 weeks and will require 15 weeks of face-to-face tutorial per unit. At this stage tutorials will be held on Sunday from 4:30 – 5:45, with a possibility for change in the near future.

Note: that due to the nature of life in a local church, meeting dates are not wholly contiguous, but fall well within the academic semester and timelines required by AC.
